You ever been somewhere surrounded by magic and good vibes that you never wanted to leave? I have, twice. My boy's hometown of Lake Oswego, Oregon is surrounded by the greenest trees and filled with some of the nicest people I've ever met. This past weekend, my handsome fella and I had a sweet getaway up to the PNW for a wedding. Although I didn't take any photos at the wedding (it was very beautiful) because I was shy and didn't know anymore, I took some snaps while we were at the lake.
My boy's parents took us out around the lake on their boat. Some of their neighbors have fancy architectural homes that you only see in movies; it was quite ridiculous how beautiful those homes are. After touring the lake and saying hello to a few of his parents' friends, the wake board and handle were pulled out. I've never went wake boarding before - the idea alone terrifies me! Even after some convincing and light playful jokes, I chickened out. Lame, I know. But, I had an excuse: I was on my "lady week" or better known as the "unwelcome red devil." So I just watched my boyfriend and my friend cruise the waves while I snapped photos of them.
One of the sweetest souls I know came down from Washington to come hang with us for an afternoon. Julia (right) and her lovely wife, Margaret kept me company while Rob caught up with one of his friend's that came through to hang too. I haven't seen Julia in a few years; but in that time she became an animal police officer, bought a house, met her lady love and got married. We tried to fill a few years of catching up in a few short hours. I told her how I met my love and she told me when she knew her wife was the one for her. Julia is one of those great friends that wants to see you happy and she'll be honest and blunt and tell you what she thinks. She knew about the not-so-great guys that were in my life before, but she can see now that I am the happiest I've been with Rob.
There's something pure up in the PNW that I've never felt anywhere else. I'd love to move up there in the future - hopefully sooner rather than later. I mean, who doesn't love views like these?
I'll be busy the next couple of weeks, but I will try and be vigilant in posting. I do have some #spilledink posts that I'd like to share as well as a few opinions on some worldly views. I usually keep my opinions on politics to myself, but I want to do my part and stand up for my beliefs.
Thanks for reading babes, come back soon! xx
