I personally never liked the term "best friend." I find it rather dismissive towards other people as if telling them that they're not good enough to be given the name. It also feels very "clique-ey" and I despise cliques.
But it wasn't until I met B.
In the beginning, I called her my best mate because it felt more comfortable - also because I thought it sounded cooler. Over the years our friendship has grown, matured, and changed in so many ways. She has taught my many things, helped me figure out many things and I am forever grateful. I've become close with her family and she's become a part of mine. I could write a book filled with all our adventures and laughter together, but she already knows how I feel about our friendship. I thought soul mates were a silly story people told, but it is most true.
She is my person, my photographer in crime.
Happy #NationalBestFriendsDay B! xx
